I am currently a senior at the University of Miami with a double major, Marine Science/ Biology with a Chemistry minor. I am concurrently involved in monitoring a Porites asteroids growth to analyze how they respond to different substrate conditions, and on a coral/algal competition study involving Porites asteroids, Montastrea cavernosa, and Montastrea faveolata. After my undergraduate experience, I would like to study coral population dynamics in Australia on the Great Barrier Reef. Also, I would like to continue studying coral and algae interactions and possibly get into population genetic research with coral. Evolution drives me the most in studying biology, therefore I am interested in life histories of coral reefs and intend to take a string stance on conservation in my later research. Other interests include SCUBA diving, underwater photography and cinematography, as well as surfing.
